FluentRead

FluentRead provides browser extension for bilingual reading and webpage translation. Bamboo maintains this compatibility guide; the application is maintained by its own project.

Configuration

Create a key in API Keys, and copy an available model ID from Models.

Setup

1. Open translation service settings in the extension.
2. Choose an OpenAI-compatible custom service.
3. Enter the Bamboo API address, key and model ID.
4. Run the service test, then make it the default translation service.
5. Try a short webpage and a few paragraphs before translating a large document.

Application notes

Start with https://api.bamboonode.cn if the extension appends OpenAI paths. Use https://api.bamboonode.cn/v1 when the field explicitly asks for a Base URL. Webpage translation creates multiple requests; use a separate key with an appropriate quota. If the output contains explanations, ask the translation prompt to return only the translated text.

Troubleshooting

• 401: confirm that the key is complete and enabled. Do not add Bearer in a key input field.
• 404: check whether the application appends /v1 and avoid a duplicated suffix.
• A model or permission error: check the exact ID, supported protocol and API-key group.
