Bamboo Relay

Factory Droid CLI

Add Bamboo Relay as a custom Chat Completions provider for Droid

Create a key in API keys and choose a model supporting Chat Completions and the tool calls needed by your workflow.

Add a custom model

export BAMBOO_API_KEY="sk-your-api-key"

Merge this entry into the customModels array in ~/.factory/settings.json, preserving any other settings and models:

{
  "customModels": [
    {
      "model": "your-model-id",
      "displayName": "Bamboo Relay",
      "baseUrl": "https://api.bamboonode.cn/v1",
      "apiKey": "${BAMBOO_API_KEY}",
      "provider": "generic-chat-completion-api",
      "maxOutputTokens": 16384
    }
  ]
}

Replace the model placeholder. The output limit is an example; use a value supported by your selected model. Verify environment-variable expansion against the installed Droid version's BYOK documentation before relying on it. Keep actual keys out of tracked configuration.

Select and test

Restart Droid, open its model selector (/model), and choose the custom model. Send a short test and verify the model in usage logs.

If the model is absent, check JSON syntax and the customModels array. Authentication failures usually require checking the key and the launching process environment. Tool errors require a compatible model and channel, not just a working text response.
